Pokémon is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and as part of the festivities it is about to launch a video game that will surely cause nostalgia in many gamers, it is New Pokémon Snap.
This title is the reinvention of the video game that was originally released for the Nintendo 64 console in 1999 under the name Pokémon Snap and, years later, could be enjoyed on the Nintendo Wii.
Unlike other titles in the franchise in which the objective was to win the fights, in Pokémon Snap the gamer becomes a photographer who must capture images of Pikachu and company in their wild habitat.
For this, there was a vehicle that was sliding through different scenarios and the gamer only focused on taking photos, using some tricks such as food to change the poses of the Pokémon and, in the end, each image obtained a rating awarded by Professor Oak.
THE NEW
In Excelsior they had the opportunity to participate in an advance on the game mode of New Pokémon Snap, which arrives on the Nintendo Switch console on April 30.
The developers of the new game indicated that the objective remains the same, to capture photographs of the Pokémon in their wild state, however, there are several changes.
Now, the player will have a tool called “scanner”, which allows you to obtain details of the Pokémon in front of it as its gender, something that was also not known in the Nintendo 64 version, species and name.
In addition, players were recommended to go through the same paths several times because they can discover new things.
For developers, the biggest difference between New Pokémon Snap and the version from the late 90s is that it now has a night mode, which means that you can visit a route during the day or at night and each one will have different Pokémon depending on their habits.
For example, during the day you can find Pikachu or Lapras on the beach, but in that same place a Zangoose or an Octillery could appear at night.
THE ORDER
Regarding the photographs taken by the gamer, they will have a better order than in the previous version because they will be saved in files depending on the type of Pokémon.
To obtain the score of these, which reaches up to four stars, pose, size, direction, among other characteristics are taken into account and it is recommended that the one with the highest score be placed on the Photodex.
The more photographs are taken, the more Expedition Points will be obtained, which serve to increase the Research Level to unlock new areas in the game.
Another thing that stands out about New Pokémon Snap and that adapts to the new habits of gamers is that the photos, which were not placed in the Photodex, can be edited.
The above means that you can modify the brightness, blur, size, focus and even place filters, the result can be shared on social networks.
