The Department of the Laity, Family and Life announced a podcast series about its daily work, and the first episode dedicated to grandparents and the elderly was launched on Sunday, July 23, coinciding with the celebration of the third World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly, with the theme “His mercy is from generation to generation” (Luke 1:50).
The Vatican Department for the Laity, Family and Life published a statement on the launch of the #laityfamilylife podcast series starting from Sunday, July 23, 2023 about its daily work related to the concrete lives of many people, families, young people, the elderly, communities and associations of the faithful and, in general, the laity who live in the world with their joys and their troubles. From caring for families, the elderly and young people, and accompanying associations of the faithful and secular movements, to the promotion and protection of human life and of the human being in his full development: the themes and activities are many in six episodes.
The first episode focuses on grandparents and the elderly, highlighting Pope Francis’ message on the occasion of the Third International Day of Grandparents and the Elderly, coinciding with and celebrating this event. And as stated in the statement published by the Vatican Department for the Laity, Family and Life, the second episode will be devoted to the youth of the International Youth Advisory Body, which has been supporting the department since 2019 in the pastoral life of youth in the world. This body will be present in Lisbon on the occasion of International Youth Day, while the other episodes will deal with topics related to the family, human life, lay people and ecclesiastical movements, and will be published between September and December. The podcast project was also realized thanks to the support of Vatican News. At the end of the statement issued on Sunday, July 23rd, it was stated that it is possible to listen to the podcast in Italian and English on the website of the Department of Laity, Family and Life. www.laityfamilylife.va and on the official YouTube channel and Spotify platform.
