Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – New planet in exoplanet or exoplanet has been found. However, the new planet has a strange shape, which is similar to cotton candy.
Planet WASP-193b is reported to be larger than Jupiter, about 1.46 times the radius of Jupiter.
The planet is not dense, only 0.09 grams per cubic centimeter, quoted Science AlertFriday (28/7/2023).
As a comparison, Science Alert writes that the density of the Earth is 5.51 grams per cubic centimeter. Meanwhile, Jupiter has a density of 1.33 grams per cubic centimeter.
WASP-193b is an exoplanet orbiting the center of the solar system named WASP-193. WASP-193 is about 1.1-1.2 times the radius of the Sun.
But WASP-193b orbits very close to WASP-193. The planet is also reported to continue to magnify once every 6.25 times.
Science Alert notes that close proximity to a star can make the atmosphere warm. This would leave the atmosphere dominated by either hydrogen or helium.
Meanwhile, WASP-193b is said to be able to be further studied in the future. Including seeing the content in the atmosphere.
This is because the research task was designed to be carried out by the James Web Space Telescope. The research team said that one observation of the transit could provide insight into how such a planet could exist in the universe.
