A STRONG LINE – On March 18, 2021, the third generation of the Peugeot 308. Thanks to the spy photographers of the English magazine Coach it is now possible to get an idea of ​​what the future compact of the house of the lion will look like. The new 308 reveals a gritty front end that recalls the style of the 208, 2008 and 508 sisters, with “fanged” daytime running lights and thin LED headlights, a redesigned bumper and a new frameless grille where the new Peugeot brand is placed. Also particular is the roofline that seems more sloping towards the rear, making the car appear longer and lower. The transformation is completed by the new rear-view mirrors, the thin rear spoiler and a “fin” antenna.

THE BODY VARIATIONS – The Peugeot 308 of 2021, which like the previous generation launched in 2014, is destined to lay the foundations for a new stylistic vein of Peugeot, will be built on an updated version of the EMP2 platform. It will be offered in different hatchback and station wagon body variants. An SUV version could also arrive in the future.

HYBRID AND ALSO SPORTS – The Peugeot 308 it will be offered with a 224 hp plug-in hybrid system that combines the 1.6 petrol engine with an electric motor. Later there will also be one sports version developed by the Peugeot Sport division, which features an additional electric motor on the rear axle (a solution already used on the 3008 PHEV), so as to guarantee four-wheel drive and power of the order of 300 hp. There will also be the traditional three-cylinder 1.2 PureTech engines with powers of 110 and 130 HP and the four-cylinder 1.5 BlueHDi up to 130 HP with mild hybrid technology.
