At Stockholm Stadium, Thobias Montler sharpened his form with a new personal best.
– I’m happy of course. But it was a bit shitty plank hits, so I feel that there is much more to give, says Montler, who eventually finished third, he said then.
And quite rightly, there was more. In Monaco he improved further and improved his personal best from 8.23 to 8.27 already in his second jump.
Montler took the lead directly through a jump of 8.13 and thus followed it up with a new personal best.
In the fifth jump jumped Jamaican Tajay Gayle 8.29 and took over the lead from Montler, who stood over his fifth jump to recharge for the final.
Once there, unfortunately, the Swede stood for a trampling – his first and only for the evening.
The Jamaican Gayle also stood for a trampling so third before the final, the Greek Miltiadis Tentoglou, won the competition.
