New pensions will begin to be delivered in July: AMLO

Once the new law that will create the Pension Fund for Wellbeing is published on May 1, the first payment to a beneficiary worker will be granted two months later, assured President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

“It’s going to take us some time, I hope that in two months after May 1st, July 1st, if we can, the first worker will be collecting his compensation. That is my plan,” he calculated after asking a question about the subject this Friday morning at the National Palace.

The Chief Executive said that once the new pension strategy to compensate workers is approved by the Congress of the Union, the law and regulations will have to be published in the first instance, which will be done on May 1.

“That was my commitment. Since I was with the workers in Río Blanco, on January 7, I offered the Pension Fund for Welfare. So, on May 1, Labor Day, we are going to present it.”

The president indicated that the procedures will be explained to workers so that they know what processes they must follow for the retirement of those who have been affected by laws approved during the neoliberal six-year periods, in order to receive less.

“They will be compensated with the Welfare Pension Fund. It is published on May 1 and the procedures are defined, the trust will be created, it will be financed so that it has resources and that by July 1, the first compensation can be delivered to the first worker, and from there , now, forward.”
