New PalliArts app available now

The popular PalliArts app has been updated by the PZNL Foundation in collaboration with IKNL. The app now offers healthcare providers (in primary care) even more information when providing palliative care at the patient’s bedside. This applies to essential information that can be found quickly and easily with the application and is therefore always within reach.

The app was recently updated. As well as a new look, a number of long-awaited improvements have been implemented, such as the return of the ‘Free Beds’ model, which greatly simplifies the search for available hospice beds. In addition, the guide has been extended thanks to a connection with Pallialine. It is also possible to consult information through the new one PalliArts websitewhich gives users more flexibility in getting the information they need.

Who is the PalliArts app for?

The app is primarily for general practitioners and geriatric specialists in primary care. But PalliArts is also widely used by other health care providers such as specialists in hospitals, palliative care consultants, nursing home doctors, district nurses and nurses in hospitals, home care and hospitals.

Improvements

Since its launch in 2016, PalliArts has been downloaded as an app 75,000 times. Brigitt Borggreve, senior consultant at PZNL and co-developer of PalliArts, believes that the updated PalliArts app is now being downloaded much more often: ‘We are very happy with the improvements we have made within PalliArts. The return of the ‘Free Beds’ model will make many health care providers very happy. The PalliArts app now also offers the option for your healthcare provider to save frequently used guidelines and other items as favorites in your account. In addition, it is now possible to send a notification from the app and email information such as an information booklet to a patient or loved one.

What’s in the PalliArts app

  • Summary of palliative care guidelines (source: Pallialine).
  • Telephone numbers of national and regional Palliative Care consultation teams who provide free consultation and advice on complex care situations for individual patients.
  • An overview of current medicine.
  • Conversion tables for various medications (opioids and benzodiazepines).
  • Drug compatibility in pump.
  • Checklists, such as decision making in the remission phase and pain problem analysis.
  • Information leaflets on topics such as anxiety, delirium and palliative sedation.
  • The ‘bed free’ model. This gives the option to search for available hospice beds in the area within the app.

The goal of PalliArts
