Jakarta –
Indonesian men’s doubles coach Aryono Miranat revealed that the new pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah will debut later this year.
Through a quick quote delivered by PBSI to reporters, Aryono explained the Minions’ tournament plans and preparations with their new partners after a long absence.
Apart from Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, who is partnered with Rahmat Hidayat, who is scheduled to make his first appearance at the 2023 Korea Masters, the latest news was also conveyed by Aryono regarding Marcus and his new duet partner.
“For Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah “There is still preparation time to appear at the Indian tournament in December,” said Aryono.
The two tournaments in India listed on the BWF calendar are the Yonex-Sunrise Guwahati Masters, in Guwahati, Assam, 5-10 December, and the Yonex-Sunrise Odisha Masters 2023 in Cuttack, Odisha, which will take place the following week.
Even so, Aryono’s statement provides a bright spot after previously Marcus’ plans to take to the match field were still unclear.
Marcus, in an interview at the PBSI National Training Center, Cipayung, some time ago also expressed his desire to compete again in future badminton tournaments. Although, he didn’t know exactly when.
No Marcus/Rayhan himself was included in the list of participants for the China Masters event which started from 21-26 November. However, both of them are on the fourth waiting list. Above them there are three other men’s doubles also registered as reserves in the BWF Super 750 tournament.
“We have plans (for the tournament we are targeting) but we can’t talk about it yet because it’s not clear yet. Yes, we want to do it as soon as possible but we haven’t talked to the coach yet. I don’t want to rush either. Be patient,” said Marcus.
