Viennacontemporary has a new owner, Marwan Younes. Daniel Jelitzka and Reza Akhava from JP Immobilien sold their shares. Younes is also said to be willing to support the fair financially.
Viennacontemporary (VC) saw another change of ownership in the summer. Marwan Younes, founder and Chief Investment Officer of Massar Capital Management, has acquired the shares of the two real estate entrepreneurs Daniel Jelitzka and Reza Akhava from JP Immobilien via Massar Management GmbH. With a 50 percent share, the son of Lebanese parents, who was born in France and has lived in New York since his studies, is the new majority owner of the fair. Massar Capital Management is an alternative investment company founded in 2015 with offices in the USA and Austria. The other two shareholders, the lawyer Bernhard Hainz, who is also the owner representative on the VC advisory board, and the entrepreneur Manfred Bodner, each continue to hold 25 percent of the parent company VC Artfairs. Hainz, Bodner, Jelitzka and Akhava joined the trade fair at very short notice in 2022 and took over the shares of the Russian businessman and long-time majority owner of VC, Dimitry Aksenov, who withdrew because of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine in order not to harm the trade fair.
