The hotel and restaurant “Zur Mühle” at Alfred-Flender-Straße 318 in Bocholt-Mussum has been closed since August 1st. Since that day, Agim Berisha has owned the property that the 34-year-old from Isselburg bought from the previous owner. The building is currently undergoing some conversion and renovation work. The restart will take place on Friday, November 1st: with a new tenant and a new name.

Lots of experience in gastronomy

The new tenant is Hasan Berisha, Agim Berisha’s brother. Both have a lot of experience in the catering industry, “because we worked in this area as temporary workers when we were young,” reports Hasan Berisha in an interview with our newspaper. The 32-year-old from Isselburg is currently still the tenant of the steakhouse in Isselburg, which he took over in July 2021 as a long-term employee. “That was my step into independence,” says Hasan Berisha. It’s over in Isselburg at the end of the year, the lease expires and will not be extended. “We will take over our employees and use them in our new restaurant in Mussum,” announces Hasan Berisha. In the two months in which both companies were running at the same time, the staff had to be deployed tactically wisely.

Name change

The change of owner and tenant also brings with it a change of name. “Zur Mühle” becomes “Steakhaus Albanica an der Mühle”, as the brothers, who were born in Kosovo, report. “We are a big family. Many relatives are also employees,” says Agim Berisha. The purchase of the “Zur Mühle” property offered a great opportunity to have something of your own. “And we took advantage of this opportunity,” adds the 34-year-old. For the most part, the menu that is offered in the Steakhouse Isselburg will also be presented in the “Steakhaus Albanica”, i.e. mainly steaks and spare ribs. “There are also two to three Albanian dishes,” announces Hasan Berisha.

Hall for 200 people

The property still includes the large hall, which can also be rented from November 1st to celebrate birthdays, weddings or graduation parties, for example. “We have space for 200 guests,” says Hasan Berisha. The hotel with its ten rooms will also continue to operate. Guests here are mainly fitters from external companies who have to complete an order in the region.

The opening hours for the restaurant are Tuesday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays and public holidays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. “The kitchen is open until 10 p.m. “Guests who are already there are allowed to stay longer,” says Hasan Berisha. His brother Agim is confident that all the work will be finished by the holiday on November 1st (All Saints Day) “to bring the property back into shape”. The Steakhouse Albanica will be open from 12 p.m.
