New Orleans Saints dominate Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady and the defending champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered their second loss of the season Sunday on Day 8 of the NFL. They bowed to the New Orleans Saints (36-27). The latter held on after the knee injury of their quarterback Jameis Winston, which occurred in the second quarter. Trevor Siemian, his replacement, has done very well, throwing 159 yards and a pass for a touchdown.

New Orleans led to 23-7 at the start of the third quarter, but Tampa Bay came down to 23-21, after two assists from Tom Brady for TD’s from Giovani Bernard and Mike Evans. A 50-yard “bomb” from Brady for Cyril Grayson then allowed the Buccaneers to lead (27-26). An advantage quickly erased by a field goal from Brian Johnson. Then PJ Williams intercepted Tom Brady and scored a touchdown that definitely secured the Saints victory.

Dallas victorious without Dak Prescott

After having had a good start (four wins in five games), the Los Angeles Chargers are running out of steam. Beaten two weeks ago by Baltimore (34-6), this time they gave up at home against the New England Patriots (27-24). Adrian Phillips intercepted Justin Herbert, quarterback for the Chargers, twice and scored a TD, and Mac Jones, QB for New England, threw 218 yards.

The Dallas Cowboys won their sixth victory in seven games over the Minnesota Vikings (20-16). Dak Prescott, the Texas quarterback, gave up playing at the last moment, still suffering from a calf injury. Cooper Rush held the bar in his place (325 yards, two touchdowns). Dallas won on a TD Amari Cooper scored with less than a minute to go, and the Cowboys went on to stop Minnesota’s final attempt.
