KOMPAS.com – Oppo introduced its new smartphone called the Oppo A59 5G in the Indian market on Friday (22/12/2023). This device has a similar name to the previous Oppo cellphone which was released in 2016.
Even though it has the same name, the newly released Oppo A59 5G is equipped with more powerful specifications. For example, in the kitchen runway. This Android cellphone from Oppo is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020.
The Dimensity 6020 chip is designed with 7 nanometer (nm) fabrication technology, combined with 4/6 GB RAM and up to 128 GB of storage space. This is different from the old version of the Oppo A59 which is still powered by MediaTek MT6750 (27 nm).

Regarding the screen, the Oppo A59 5G comes with an LCD panel screen with a span of 6.56 inches.
This flat screen has a refresh rate of 90 Hz, a brightness level of 720 nits, and is decorated with waterdrop notches to accommodate the 8 MP front camera.
Meanwhile, on the back, the cellphone comes with two camera rings positioned straight vertically.
The top ring is used to attach a camera sensor, while the second ring is used as the “home” for the second camera sensor, along with the LED flash.
The rear camera configuration consists of a 13 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The camera is accompanied by a number of photography features such as Portrait Mode, AI Portrait Retouching, Ultra-Clear Camera, and many more.
The Oppo A59 5G is supported by a 5,000mAh capacity battery and supports 33 watt SuperVOOC fast charging. The operating system running Android 13 is polished with Oppo’s typical interface, ColorOS 13.1.

Other supporting features include 5G network support, a microSD slot to increase storage space, a fingerprint scanner integrated with the power button, a 3.5 mm audio jack plug, and IP54 certification (dust and splash resistant).

The Oppo A59 5G is sold at a price of 14,999 rupees (around Rp. 2.8 million) for the 4/128 GB variant and 16,999 rupees for the 6/128 GB variant (around Rp. 3.2 million). The color options offered are Silk Gold and Starry Black, as quoted by KompasTekno from GSM Arena, Sunday (24/12/2023).
The cellphone will go on sale for the first time on December 25 2023 and can be purchased via the official Oppo Store website in India, and Oppo partner marketplaces. Currently, the Oppo A59 is only available in India.
