As managing director, she built up the European business of Khiron Life Sciences, and previously worked for Canopy Growth. Both companies are active in the field of medical cannabis, and Khiron also operates clinics. Franziska Katterbach is now returning to the world of law firms, where she wants to contribute her expertise to client work with players in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
From October 1st of this year, she will be joining the Oppenhoff team in Frankfurt as a partner. The environment is not unfamiliar to her. Katterbach worked for Dentons for a good four years from mid-2014, most recently as a senior associate. Her focus at the time was advising on transactions in the life sciences sector.
Team Frankfurt is growing across sectors
According to firm spokeswoman Myriam Baars-Schilling, Oppenhoff is looking forward to “professional expertise and in-depth industry knowledge.” Katterbach will support the Healthcare sector group, which advises pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech companies, hospitals and nursing homes, among others.
Franziska Katterbach is not the first new partner that Oppenhoff has announced for the Frankfurt office this year. In mid-April, Dr. Regina Engelstädter joined the firm from Paul Hastings. Before that, Dr. Barnim von den Steinen had already moved to Oppenhoff. He came from Rotthege at the beginning of March.
