End of the endless wait for an appointment with a ophthalmologist To Cahors ? In any case, it is the hope that is born with the announcement of theestablishment of a secondary site from Honoré Cave clinic in Montauban in the Cahors Sud area.
It is avenue Antoine de Saint-Expupéry, in the town of Cieurac, that this eye center should settle. The building permit in the name of SCI Ophtalmologie was filed on December 20, 2022. On what is still today a vacant lot overgrown with wild grass of just over 7,000 m2 located between the Traditions du Quercy and the Cahors-Lalbenque aerodrome, should set up a building with a surface area of approximately 2,000 m2.
A secondary site of the Cave clinic in Cahors
SCI Ophtalmologie, a civil real estate company registered in Montauban, is managed by Olivier Gualino-Tamonino and Carmela Maceri with partner Bruno Blonstein. Dr Olivier Gualino-Tamonino and Carmela Maceri are both ophthalmologists in Montauban, within the Honore Cave clinicwhile Bruno Blonstein, general practitioner, also officiates there in the emergency department.
It could therefore be Cahors of the establishment of a secondary operating site of this clinic specializing in ophthalmology and ENTas already exists elsewhere in the South-West, notably in Caussade (Tarn-et-Garonne) or Rabastens (Tarn).
However, given the surface of the future building, it should bea large site called to make many consultations and in fact to shine beyond the Cahors living area.
The history of the clinic
The Honoré Cave clinic was founded by Dr. Cave, a pioneer in ENT surgery, in 1957 on its current site on Boulevard Montauriol in Montauban. From 1973, the clinic added ophthalmology activities to ENT, founding one of the first specialty clinics. In 1983, the son of the founder, Jean-Pierre Cave, and his sister Michèle Gualino, run the clinic and bring it into the era of modernity, making it a reference center and further developing the practice of ophthalmology. In 2010, the clinic was expanded and since then, regular work has enabled it to remain at the forefront of its specialties and to regularly rank among the best establishments in France in its field.
What about Cahors?
We do not yet know how many doctors will come to practice in this new ophthalmology center, nor if ENTs will also join it. Nevertheless, the start of construction work on the building should not take too long, the three-month deadline for posting the building permit having passed.
More information should therefore arrive in the coming weeks.
