The on-demand offers are getting a new operator
A continuation of the so-called on-demand offers in the Rhine-Main Transport Association (RMV) is becoming apparent. As the Frankfurter Rundschau learned, the vehicles, which can be booked flexibly, will also be on the road after November 1st. As usual, but with a different operator. The Clever-Shuttle company has to withdraw from the business due to insolvency. There was no official confirmation from RMV on Monday: “We will send a press release after the contract has been signed,” it said when asked.
The project will receive significant funding from the federal government until the end of 2024. In six regions in the RMV, the vehicles can be booked digitally or by telephone at the desired time for a small surcharge: in the Offenbach district they are called Hopper, in Darmstadt Heinerliner, in Hanau Mainer. In the north of Frankfurt, Knut drives people to their doorsteps, in Taunusstein Emil, and in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district it is the DadiLiner.
It is a successful addition to the classic local transport offerings with fixed timetables and routes. In the Offenbach district, the Hopper operates in all 13 municipalities. The responsible Offenbach district traffic company has 50,000 users per month from all age groups. An offer that also reaches those who don’t otherwise take the bus or S-Bahn. jur
