New open-air exposition in the art center “Zuzeum” / Article / LSM.lv

From November 29, an open-air exhibition will be on display at the Zuzeum Art Center – a winter shop window with glass, porcelain and paintings from the Zuzze collection, Zuzeum representatives informed.

The winter shop window is available to visitors free of charge and is located in the orange “Greenhouse” in the sculpture garden. In the sculpture garden, visitors will be greeted by Thomas Hausego’s “The Great Walking Figure” and Anthony Gormley’s thinker on the brick facade.

New paintings from the Zuzāni collection can also be seen inside the art center, where after changing the exposition in the public area, in addition to the works of Gregors Hildebrants, Barnabija Furnas and Mark Sun Roz, paintings by Francesca Kirkes, Daina Dagnia and Kristaps Zariņš can now be seen. The Zuzeum public area is open to all visitors and the works of art on display can be viewed free of charge.

Until January 10, 2021, the exhibition “We will live. Contemporary Art in the Zuzāni Collection ”(curated by Ieva Zībārte), which introduces the new acquisitions of the collection, which include Cindy Sherman, Claire Tabur, Rashid Johnson, Kaido Ole, Skuja Braden, Sana Kantarovska, Ella Kruglanska, Derek Fordtaur, Inga Melder Paintings and sculptures by Donna Huanca and other internationally renowned contemporary artists.

Artist Darya Melnikova and architect Evelina Ozola, who have previously collaborated with the team of authors and curators of the Latvian National Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, have designed a festive window with two installations on the theme of a festive table, a dream castle and winter sports.

The open-air exhibition will be on view in the Zuzeum sculpture garden from Sunday, November 29, to February 28, 2021.
