A new PS5 controller that can be controlled with one hand was unveiled at CES.
On the 5th, Sony announced “Project Leonardo”, an accessibility controller for the PS5 through the Sony presentation at CES. Project Leonardo is an accessibility controller for the PS5 first presented by Sony, which can be operated with one hand by arranging buttons and thumbsticks around a circular structural plate. This way, players who find it difficult to use DualSense, which is used with both hands, can enjoy the game.
Project Leonardo can arrange analog sticks and buttons in various shapes and sizes, allowing players to customize it to suit their individual circumstances. In addition, you can adjust the distance between the stick and the pad and apply up to three button mapping and control profiles, allowing for optimized control tailored to each game.
Cooperative play is also possible in combination with DualSense, and usability is enhanced with third-party accessories and extensions. The controller pad is also designed to sit comfortably on the floor, so it can be placed on a wheelchair tray, and it is also possible to secure the controller by installing it on the AMPS stand.
Project Leonardo is under development and receiving feedback on the device.
