“New NYC Ferry Schedules Begin, Including Increased Capacity and Service to Governor’s Island”

The new schedules for the NYC Ferry service go into effect this Monday.

The ships will have increased seating capacity at times of need and more service to Governor’s Island, including a weekend shuttle service from Pier 11.

The most significant schedule changes are in the Rockaways, where evening service is no longer set to the same time every hour.

Everything you need to know about upcoming service changes:

· In general, there is a higher seating capacity throughout the system.

· Modifications have been made to the Rockaway Route schedule on weekdays to utilize our larger capacity vessels and reduce afternoon delays.

· Beginning May 30, weekday service on the South Brooklyn route to Governors Island will be extended to approximately 9:20pm.

· On summer weekends and holidays, NYC Ferry serves Governors Island via a direct shuttle from Pier 11. All NYC Ferry passengers can transfer free to the Governors Island Shuttle on Wall St / Pier 11.

Please note that NYC Ferry will operate on a weekend schedule on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day

NYC Ferry officials said they are trying to reduce afternoon delays by using larger capacity ships.
