New Nokia phones can (almost) not be damaged

With the X-series, HMD Global makes it easier for consumers to reduce the amount of electronic waste – and at the same time encourages more sustainable consumption, the manufacturer HMD Global writes in a press release.

The new range of Nokia X mobiles also has a 3-year warranty and 3-year software and security updates, so the new smartphones are guaranteed updates to the operating system right up to Android 14. Both the Nokia X10 and Nokia X20 come with the latest version of Android 11.

According to the EU’s environmental panel, we consumers will only keep our existing smartphones for an extra year, which will result in 2030 CO2 emissions equivalent to removing 2 million cars from the roads. HMD Global wants to be a part of this development, so that we make it easier for consumers to make more sustainable choices, ” says Claus Dahl, General Manager Nordics, HMD Global.
