The third Qashqai will be that of electrification. While no 100% electric variant is planned, the SUV will adopt Nissan’s e-Power electric motor. It is indeed an electric in the literal sense of the term since it is the electric motor which drives the front wheels, the thermal block only ensuring the function of current generator for the batteries.
Nissan continues to reveal details about its Qashqai 3 with the interior. The image only partially shows the dashboard, but it does show enough. The big news is the appearance of a screen in tablet format, perched on the board, and no longer integrated into it as before. A 9-inch screen that brings together Nissan connected services and the now traditional Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The other big novelty is this large 12.3-inch digital instrumentation, which integrates navigation. Something that we still see too little, especially among general manufacturers. Nissan should therefore appeal to a certain “geek” audience with this equipment, especially since the new Qashqai has a 10.8-inch head-up display, one of the largest currently in the automobile industry. White mood lighting is present.
Ultra connected, the new Qashqai will be entitled to a stolen vehicle reporting function: “Stolen Vehicle Tracking. This system makes it possible, thanks to the NissanConnect application, to report the theft of the vehicle to a dedicated customer service department and to the police, then to automatically track it remotely, thus allowing its recovery.“.
Overall, the Qashqai seems to want to move upmarket: Nissan will, for example, offer Nappa leather upholstery with 3D patterns. A fast induction charger (15 W) and USB A and C sockets are present in the cabin of an SUV which will be more welcoming than ever, with a trunk in progress of 50 liters.
