NEW NIGHT TRAIN – On rails: from Graz to Berlin while you sleep

Fear of flying, concerns about climate change or simply not having a car: There are many reasons for traveling by bus or train. However, there are a few things to consider when booking.

How far in advance should you book your trip?
The sooner the better. Tickets for private long-distance buses are becoming more and more expensive as the contingent dwindles. This also applies to the inexpensive “Sparschiene” of ÖBB. During the holiday season, Deutsche Bahn recommends booking and reserving around three months in advance. Because especially the sleeping and couchette places on the night trains are often gone quickly.

Is the climate ticket also valid for long-distance journeys and night connections?
The climate ticket is valid on all ÖBB trains. However, you have to book sleeping, lying or seating places separately. In addition, the climate ticket is only valid up to the Austrian border – from then on you need your own ticket. The climate ticket is not valid on private long-distance bus lines.
