New name | Graz emergency medical service is now called “Med Mobil 1450 Graz”

The on-call doctors of the emergency medical service performed 2,479 missions between January and August 2023 alone, meaning that overall the number of emergency medical service deployments has leveled off at a significantly higher level than before the reorganization in April 2022. Compared to 2021 and 2022 (3,489 and 4,684 visits respectively), there has been an increase of 34 percent.

New name, clear tasks

For a few weeks now, the offer has been operating under a new name: Med Mobil 1450 Graz. The aim is to anchor the offer even better among the population – thanks to the name change, it is now clearer what this facility is used for. So far, the name has often raised the expectation that a call to 1450 would alert the emergency doctor and not a general practitioner, it was said. The on-call medical visit service remains an important pillar of our health care, it is emphasized. Doctors are very interested in participating in this new system and the booking system is already well filled for the coming months.

Thanks to the reorganization a year and a half ago, the on-call medical visit service has moved even closer to the needs of the population, emphasizes Graz City Councilor for Health Robert Krotzer (KPÖ), and the doctors come to people quickly, even at night: “That was and is the concern “We are pleased that the offer has been so well received in Graz,” emphasizes State Health Councilor Karlheinz Kornhäusl” (ÖVP ). The employees of the health hotline 1450 would also make a significant contribution, answering questions about health problems around the clock, recommending next steps and arranging an on-call medical visit if this is needed.

Reorganization also in the ordination service

There was also a reorganization of the ordination service.
