In 2022, the young radios of ARD and Deutschlandfunk Nova will not only award an award to the most promising newcomer of the year, who still has the turning point ahead of him, in the context of the “NEW MUSIC AWARDS”. In a musical film on October 27, 2022, which will be available in the ARD media library and will be broadcast simultaneously as a radio program by all channels involved in their programs between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm, “Starter: in of the Anno” will receive even their prize. An act that this year was able to celebrate its turning point, also thanks to the support of the young ARD and Deutschlandfunk Nova programs.
In a vote among the broadcasters involved, this year’s choice fell on ClockClock in Mannheim.
ClockClock are the singer Bojan Kalajdzic and the two producers Fabian Fieser and Mark Vonsin. The three have been making music together since 2017. After ClockClock had two hits alongside producer collective Glockenbach last year (“Redlight” and “Brooklyn”), the first major hit of the same name followed in 2022 with ” Sorry “. In total, ClockClock can now boast over 127 million streams, “Sorry” alone has been streamed more than 30 million times worldwide. On German radio, the song has been listened to almost 60,000 times and is among the top 10 most successful songs of the year. ClockClock has already received seven gold awards in German-speaking countries for their success in the charts. The trio recently released a new single, “Someone Else”, before an EP in early 2023 and a tour to follow in April.
The delivery of the prize to ClockClock will be part of the musical film that can be seen in the ARD media library on October 27, 2022, whose audio track will be listened to simultaneously by all partners on the radio starting at 20:00. Each of the participating programs nominated a promising musical act from their region for the second category of the award, “Newcomer: in of the Year”. A jury made up of representatives of the participating broadcasters and the three external jurors Leony, Luna and Louis Hofmann decides who will be able to take home the prize at the end.
