1. RUBIO, SHOUGANAI
We start today’s list with the new single from the Chilean artist RUBIOwhich fuses alternative Latin rock with electronic touches in a unique and captivating proposal. 2. SOPHIE, Exhilarate
The third single from the latest album is here. SOPHIE. The new cut, Exhilaratewas written by the late producer, and features Bibi Bourelly y Kennedi LykkenIt’s an airy and aptly titled number that celebrates the unstoppable power of friendship and mutual support. The follow-up to their 2018 debut, OIL OF EVERY PEARL’S UN-INSIDES, It will be released on September 27th via Transgressive and Future Classic and was almost finished when SOPHIE He tragically passed away, and has since been carefully finished by some of his loved ones and closest collaborators, including his studio manager and co-producer Benny Long.
3. DIV, Live on KEXP
DIV recently performed a live session for KEXP, showcasing their signature blend of dreamy soundscapes and introspective lyrics. The session, which was recorded last June and premiered over the weekend, included a selection of tracks that highlighted the band’s musical evolution and depth. During the session, we heard In Amber, Somber The Drums, Raining On Your Pillow y Blankenshipfrom his 2019 album Deceiver.
4. Faerybabyy + Mica + Sinnerella, Rosalia
Faerybabyy, whose real name is Payton Morse, is an emerging pop and indie pop artist from New York, United States. 5. Beach Bunny + Hank Heaven, Beloved
The Brooklyn singer-songwriter Hank Heaven has joined Lili Trifilio of Beach Bunny for a new song called Beloved. The song was produced by Jake Luppen, contributor of Hank Heaven for a long time. “Beloved It’s a song about how isolating anger is,” he said. First premiered live at Rolling Loud Portugal in 2022, the track (which is apparently not on the album) is built around a groove beat, and as you might imagine, the single’s main feature is its hook that references Taylor Swift: I’m too swift, don’t tell Taylor ’bout this shit. The song arrives with a surreal music video directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, which shows A$AP walking through a strange setting in Ukraine, decorated with a cascade of bizarre imagery, including urinals falling from the sky, a man with toes for legs, dogs in business suits talking on cell phones, and more.
7. Beny Jr, ESPANINGLISH
On June 26, the Spanish artist Beny Jr released his new album, called Hopefully I’m Doing Well. Through his lyrics, the artist explores heartbreak, insecurity and identity, reflecting his personal experiences and the complexity of modern relationships. Aspects of fame and self-acceptance are also touched upon, displaying a vulnerability that resonates with many listeners, as it does on the single ESPANINGLISH. In the song, recorded in English and Spanish, the artist reflects feelings of insecurity and the need to be heard.
