NEW MUSIC AWARD 2022: Ennio and ClockClock are the winners of the year

As part of a musical film, the radio version of which was broadcast in parallel throughout Germany, the broadcasters involved presented Germany’s most promising newcomers on Thursday evening. The youth programs of ARD and Deutschlandfunk Nova make it clear once again in 2022 – the year in which even famous artists have to cancel concerts and tours – that supporting young German musicians is still one of their main tasks.

Ennio di Monaco, nominated by PULS (BR), won the jury vote for the “Newcomer: in des Jahres” category, which was attended by representatives of the participating broadcasters as well as external jurors Leony, Luna and Louis Hofmann.

Ennio has been making music for several years, in 2020 he decides to publish his music with German lyrics in the future. With his debut EP “stundenull” he was able to celebrate his first big hits this year, followed by support tours with the bands Jeremias and Provincial. His second EP “Nirvana” will be released at the end of November, followed by his first concerts in December, which have already been moved several times to larger clubs and venues.

Ennio did not expect to win the NEW MUSIC AWARDS due to the large audience of participants: “The other acts were all very sensational, it was an open game. I’m all happier. This is my first prize ever and it’s great. when you get feedback that you are on the right track.

Andy Barsekow, product manager of the “PULS Startrampe”, is enthusiastic about his music and the growing success: “We are super happy that Ennio can take the award home with him. PULS has supported him from the beginning and we still are. more pleased that his creative work is causing a sensation and is now awarded the NEW MUSIC AWARD 2022.

This year’s NEW MUSIC AWARD in the “Starter of the Year” category goes to ClockClock in Mannheim.

ClockClock are the singer Bojan Kalajdzic and the two producers Fabian Fieser and Mark Vonsin. The three have been making music together since 2017. After ClockClock had two hits alongside producer collective Glockenbach last year (“Redlight” and “Brooklyn”), the first major hit of the same name followed in 2022 with ” Sorry “. In total, ClockClock can now boast over 127 million streams, “Sorry” alone has been streamed more than 30 million times worldwide. On German radio, the song has been listened to almost 60,000 times and is among the top 10 most successful songs of the year. ClockClock has already received seven gold awards in German-speaking countries for their success in the charts. The trio recently released a new single, “Someone Else”, before an EP in early 2023 and a tour to follow in April.

The broadcasters involved will continue to accompany and support Ennio and ClockClock’s careers in their online programs and formats next year.
