The procedures for the new Municipal Taxi Regulations begin in Zaragoza
The Zaragoza City Council has started the procedures for the approval of the Municipal Regulation for the taxi.
The Government of the Aragonese capital approved in its last meeting the project of modification of the Municipal Regulation of the Urban Service of Autotaxi of Zaragoza, for its adaptation to the Aragonese Law 5/2018 of the Taxi.
In the new regulation, issues such as the abolition of the age limits of the vehicles acquired prior to the entry into force of this adaptation, the possibility of having taxis with up to 9 seats, as well as the possibility of applying a fee closed, with the obligation to also activate the meter, charging the lowest amount between the one agreed at the beginning and the one that appears on the meter.
Likewise, the installation of internal vehicle surveillance systems for security purposes will be allowed.
The draft municipal regulation includes new definitions on what are considered taxi services, urban taxi service, as well as intercity taxi or discretionary taxi services.
Reference is also made to the use for this service of vehicles that respect the environment and an attempt is made to facilitate the use of this service by people with reduced mobility, respecting the 5 percent percentage of adapted vehicles in the city.
Finally, new criteria are established for the creation of licenses, the requirements to be the holder of the same and the circumstances in which they may be transferred.
