New Motorola Edge X30 brings 60 MP camera below the screen

A Motorola launched its first cell phone with a camera under the screen this Thursday (17). Known as Motorola Edge X30 Under Screen Camera Edition, the smartphone stands out for the display without any cutout or hole to house the photographic sensor. The launch still has an advanced technical sheet with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The new edition will hit stores a few months after its first official public appearance. In December, Motorola introduced the model with a camera under the screen alongside variants that place the camera in a hole in the panel. The commercial debut of the special edition, however, only happened this week.

The highlight is the 6.7-inch screen. Instead of bringing a hole or notch, the smartphone places the 60-megapixel selfie sensor (!) behind the panel – that is, the display is basically uninterrupted. In addition, the display has Full HD+ resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate.

Datasheet brings triple camera and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Otherwise, the cell phone resembles the conventional Motorola Edge X30. This is the case of the triple camera system, led by two 50-megapixel sensors (main and ultrawide). The grouping is completed with a further 2 megapixel component, this time to capture depth of field.

The datasheet is led by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. In addition, unlike the other variants, the launch has only one edition with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The phone also has a 5,000 mAh battery with 68-watt fast charging and comes out of the box with Android 12 from the factory.

price and availability

The Motorola Edge X30 is already on pre-order and will go on sale on March 30th in China. As it only has one edition, the phone will hit stores with a suggested retail price of 3,999 yuan. The value is equivalent to about R$ 3,200 in direct conversion.

There is no release date for the new edition with a camera under the screen in Brazil. However, the manufacturer revealed the global edition of the smartphone in the domestic market under the trade name Edge 30 Pro at the end of February. The phone landed on Brazilian soil with a suggested price of R$6,499.
