In recent days, the Ford car company, or its European division, boasted on social media interesting examples of a new model, the premiere of which is scheduled for August 24th. It was already clear from the first demonstration that it would be a new residential van, which was revealed, for example, by the flip-up roof tent.
The introduction of a new Ford camper van should not be such a surprise. In recent months, the Ford Pro commercial vehicle division has introduced several models with different types of power units. The introduction of the residential model, which has enjoyed high popularity in recent years, was therefore only a matter of time.

Even according to foreign colleagues, there is a relatively high chance that the new generation of the Transit Custom Nugget model could be a mysterious novelty.
Let’s move on from speculation to the content of the pair of videos, which offer a look at the exterior and interior of the van. From the outside, the roof with an integrated flip-up tent, on the upper part of which there is a solar panel, is particularly eye-catching. The tent could be equipped with practical lighting and a large window.
The car manufacturer placed armchairs in the rear doors, which is a practical solution that we have known for a long time from the VW California motorhomes. In addition, an outdoor shower can be seen in the shot, and a side awning would not be missing either. In short, typical equipment of a residential van.
A look into the cabin reveals a kitchen unit in the back of the car, which should also include a refrigerator hidden in a drawer. The automaker also showed ambient lighting with different shades, which can be controlled via a tablet with a color display. This will probably be used to control/check all the functions of the residential building.
We will have to wait for more details until the official premiere, which will take place during the Motorhome and Caravan Motor Show in Düsseldorf. But if the rumors about the residential version of the Transit Custom van are confirmed, we can look forward to a diverse range of powertrains, including plug-in hybrid or purely electric.
