This postpones one of the import regulations set by the UK after leaving the EU, which was the obligation to provide phytosanitary certificates for imported fruit and vegetables and to carry out physical checks. These requirements, which should come into force in April 2021 according to the first phased calendar set by the UK authorities post-Brexit, according to FEPEX.

The draft new model for controlling agri-food imports into the UK is due to come into force in October 2023.
