An entourage from FC Barcelona is meeting Ivan de la Pena again this Thursday and hopes to finally be able to conclude the contract negotiations. Sport reports on the new meeting.
Significant progress is said to have been made during the last round of talks. Barça and Gavi’s stakeholders most likely only have final details to clarify in order to finally negotiate the extension of the cooperation, which expires in 2023.
Football director Mateu Alemany and negotiating partners should assume that hands will be shaken to conclude the contract on Thursday. Barca offer a new five-year deal with a move up Ronald Araujo’s pay grade. The new exit clause is set at one billion euros.

Asked about Gavi’s forced extension, club president Joan Laporta was positive again a few days ago: “We’re optimistic. We want Gavi to continue. The player and his agent want him to continue.”
