Vaccination and economic recovery
Ms. Sarazin said in an interview with Law that a meeting was scheduled for Tuesday with the Federal Minister of Prosperity and the Middle Class, and Associate Minister of Finance, Mona Fortier.
The purpose of the meeting is to help find a solution to revive the economy for good.
“We want to discuss the strategy to bring as many vaccines as possible into the province in order to be able to vaccinate as many people as possible and then be able to work on economic recovery. With all the outbreaks we have seen recently, we definitely want a quick recovery, but above all we want people to be vaccinated sooner rather than later, ”explained Ms. Sarazin.
The meeting will also discuss the federal budget that will be tabled Monday by the Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland.
“We want federal employees to be able to return to work. The fact that officials are at home all the time takes a lot of traffic in local businesses. “
Ms. Sarazin also hopes that the budget will show concrete actions to ensure economic recovery, especially for small businesses.
“Help is expected for small, non-essential businesses. They are the ones who are suffering the most from the crisis. We can’t wait to see what kind of help we will get to help rebuild the turnover of these small businesses. Right now, homeowners are so short of money that they have to dip into their personal savings to survive, ”Ms. Sarazin concludes.
