Additional measures are also being taken in Germany in the fight against the corona virus. The country is still in better shape than many other European countries, but the number of new infections reported daily continues to rise.
The Robert Koch Institute, the German RIVM, reported 6,638 new infections today. That is the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic.
Yesterday, the health institute reported 4,059 infections, the first time since April that the 4,000 mark has been exceeded. The contamination numbers from the spring and autumn are not completely comparable, because there is now considerably more testing.
However, the percentage of positive tests has increased significantly. At the end of August, 0.74 percent of the people tested received a positive result, last week it was 2.48 percent.
