New measures come into force in the capital. As of today, the planned admission and planned operations are suspended due to the growing number of new people in need of hospitalization. Exceptions will be transplants and treatment of patients with oncological and oncohematological diseases, as well as assisted reproduction and childbirth activities. At present, the total number of beds in the country is 5,240, of which 580 are seriously ill.
The order of the capital’s RHI also prohibits visits to medical institutions. These restrictions are expected to be temporary, depending on the development of the epidemic situation in Sofia.
The Regional Crisis Staff is expected to convene later today to decide whether further measures against the pandemic are needed.
