New martial arts and fitness studio Alpha Sports MMA in Wertheim-Urphar

Sports and fitness fans now have the opportunity to reach a new level of fitness and martial arts on 700 square meters. Martin Vath and Katja Pfeiffer were happy about the great response.

For Mayor Markus Herrera Torrez, the large studio is a “huge added value” for Urphar. Owner and managing director Martin Vath himself practiced MMA martial arts professionally. The new rooms in Urphar are a dream come true for him. After Grünsfeld, a milestone has now been set in Urphar. Around 700 members are currently taking part in self-defense and martial arts, fitness courses and health offers. “My primary goal is self-defense,” said the 46-year-old shortly before the official opening. Children and young people are particularly important to him. “Bullying is a big issue here. We strengthen the children’s self-confidence, which gives them a lot of internal strength,” he said. He employs four full-time employees and 15 part-time workers.

Bright children’s eyes

His fitness trainer and assistant Katja Pfeiffer discussed the short renovation phase of the building. Within about three weeks, a specialist fishing store became a new fitness studio. The complete renovation was no picnic for everyone involved. She was all the more pleased that the rooms had been so well received. »When I see the children and young people coming in with shining eyes, it was worth it. This is our passion,” she said.

Mayor Markus Herrera Torrez was “extremely pleased that he was invited to the opening of the studio. »Sport is good for the body, strengthens the soul and gives you inner strength. You can get this strength and energy here,” stated Herrera Torrez. For Martin Vath and his team, he brought a blue optimist to match the studio’s design.

Everything from normal fitness courses to martial arts is offered. A wide spectrum for all age groups.

Mayor Detlef Dosch also praised those responsible. “We are happy that the hall is being used again and that there is a wide range of sports on offer for young and old. “This will hopefully be used for a few years,” he said.

»A special day«

“Without you, something like this wouldn’t be possible,” said managing director Martin Vath. »It’s a special day for me. The beginning of a new era for Alpha Sports. Sport knows no boundaries. Discipline, community, appreciation play an enormous role,” he explained. Vath thanked his family and the employees who were able to implement all of this with a lot of commitment. Functional fitness and martial arts can be perfectly combined here. Violence prevention is a big part of this. At an open day on Sunday there were trial courses for the little ones, and young people and adults took the opportunity for trial training.
