All players rerated
Transfermarkt have updated the market values of all Bundesliga pros and from July 1 Christopher Nkunku, Jude Bellingham and Joshua Kimmich share the title of Most Valuable Player. The latter is one of ten FC Bayern footballers who received a devaluation, while Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin posted the largest percentage increases.
–
“It’s no secret that clubs are interested in me,” RB Leipzig’s Nkunku toldTelefoot“ – no wonder, given his scorer values: 55 goals in 51 games make him the most dangerous player whose name is not Lewandowski, Benzema or Mbappé. In terms of market value, this is noticeable with a jump from 65 million to 80 million euros. This means that the most valuable non-national player in the world until last March will be the most valuable player in the Bundesliga from July 1st.

Until June 30, BVB will be number one in the person of Erling Haaland, who will then wake up as a Dortmund professional for the last time before going to Manchester City – the Norwegian can confirm his market value of 150 million euros. His team-mate Bellingham, who is now valued at EUR 80 million, receives a plus of EUR 5 million. The bottom line for the black and yellow squad is a minus of 22.1 million euros or almost 4 percent to 538 million euros, for which Giovanni Reyna (-7 to 35 million) and Raphaël Guerreiro (-10 to 25 million) are responsible.

All new Bayern market values
To overview
In this market value update, red pencil dominates in the Bayern squad and causes a depreciation of 35 million to 770 million euros. Market value admin Martin Freundl (Soyen) explains the minus despite the tenth championship in a row: “This is mainly due to the fact that numerous top performers are already at a very high market value level and were unable to significantly improve their performance or stagnated. With Müller and Lewandowski, two regular players have been downgraded because of their age, while on the side of the young players with market potential, only Musiala has developed positively.”
While Jamal Musiala (+10 to 65 million) is one of the biggest winners after Nkunku, the Munich team also has one of the biggest market value losers in their ranks, alongside Joshua Kimmich (-5 to 80 million) in Leroy Sané.
“Sané is still below the expectations placed in him and was hardly able to maintain consistency in his second season. Especially in the second half of the season he fell into old patterns – the phased positive trend of the first half of the season was not confirmed. Although a few scorer points concealed the sometimes poor performances, he hasn’t scored a goal or assisted in the Bundesliga since February. His market value has therefore fallen by 10 million to 60 million euros,” says market value expert Freundl. This continues the zigzag course in Sané’s market value development: since his move in 2020, it has increased by EUR 10 million three times and decreased by EUR 10 million three times.

What a worlds there are between the market values of Bayern and those of Union Berlin becomes apparent when you consider that the “Iron” were among the biggest winners in percentage terms with an increase in squad value from EUR 9.1 million to EUR 82.1 million count in the Bundesliga. Taiwo Awoniyi recorded the biggest addition to the Europa League participant’s team. “Awoniyi’s 20 goals and dynamism has allowed him to attract the attention of financially strong Premier League clubs. As a result of this development, we have increased his market value by 5 million to 20 million euros,” Freundl explains the new value of the most valuable Union player in the club’s history.
Eintracht Frankfurt is still a long way from the highest squad value in the club’s history – 2019 with 290 million euros – even as the top winner of this Bundesliga update. In addition to eight devaluations, the SBU also recorded eleven revaluations, which had a much greater impact and resulted in an increase of EUR 25 million to EUR 224 million.

The Europa League winners are up for Evan Ndicka (+4 to 32 million), Filip Kostic (+4 to 24 million), Djibril Sow (+4.5 to 22 million) and Ansgar Knauff. The latter came on loan from BVB in January and has doubled his market value from EUR 5 million to EUR 10 million.
While the Dortmund team can look forward to Knauff again from 2023, another Borussia winger has a big plus: Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The 17-year-old came from Manchester City’s youth academy in 2020 and has a starting market value of €4m. “The next big BVB talent to be integrated into the Bundesliga squad. Injured at the beginning of the season, he unfolded his potential for the U19s in the final stretch of the season and since his brace at Manchester United in the round of 16 of the UEFA Youth League he has been on everyone’s lips. This was followed by the Bundesliga debut and winning the A junior championship against Hertha BSC,” says Marktwert admin Julius Weißenstein (Savarez03) describing Gitten’s season.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples are given here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
