Peck Slip Social: Manhattan’s Financial District Welcomes a New Whiskey Haven
Manhattan’s Financial District has a new hotspot: Peck Slip social, a refined whiskey bar and social club, has recently opened its doors at 36 Peck Slip, nestled within the revitalized Historic Front Street. This 2,100-square-foot establishment, co-founded by longtime Seaport residents Alex Davis and Learan Kahanov, aims to become a community gathering place, adding to the vibrant mix of retail and dining options in the area.
Historic Front Street itself is a testament to urban renewal. This collection of 11 landmarked buildings and three modern structures, situated between Peck Slip and Beekman Street, underwent a notable transformation, completed in 2005 by the Durst Institution and Cook + Fox Architects. The project resulted in 95 residential units and 15 street-level commercial spaces, breathing new life into this historic district.
peck Slip Social offers a unique ambiance. The expansive 24-foot bar is the centerpiece, flanked by two distinct areas. One area features a small stage for live music performances and communal seating, perfect for socializing. The other provides a more relaxed atmosphere with a pool table, board games, and agreeable sofa seating. The bar boasts a selection of over 100 whiskeys, a carefully curated cocktail menu, and a tempting array of small plates, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
With its impressive whiskey collection, inviting atmosphere, and regular live music, Peck Slip Social is poised to become a favorite destination in the Financial District, offering a sophisticated yet approachable escape for locals and visitors alike.
