On April 1st, Manuela Schüpbach takes over the management of Bärner Bio Bure. The Emmentaler, who grew up on an organic farm, did a commercial apprenticeship at a municipal administration and completed her commercial vocational baccalaureate before completing her degree in tourism at the HES-SO Valais. She then gained experience in the tourism industry.
The importance of organic agriculture has taken on a more important place in her life again in the last few years, according to a media release. In addition to her work as managing director, she attends the farmer’s school at Inforama Waldhof and helps on her parents’ organic farm, in the housekeeping as well as in the stable with the cows.
The Bärner Bio Free are an association that represents the interests of organic farmers in the canton of Bern and is also a member organization of Bio Suisse. The association currently has a good 1200 members. A particularly important task is to support organic farmers in their work. The aim of the association is to make organic farming accessible to consumers.
