From February 15, the wine subsidiary of the cooperative group UAPL will be managed by Bruno Prévot, via a game of musical chairs.

A movement in sight within the cooperative group UAPL (Union agricole des Pays de la Loire). After 37 years in the entity, including 30 in general management, Jean-Michel Mignot will exercise his retirement rights, and will leave the company on February 15, in the year he turns 63. His successor has been designated internally, since it is Jérôme Lemasson, current director of Loire Properties – which he has managed since 2009 – who will take control of the group (€300 million turnover, 600 employees). “It is part of the DNA to recruit positions of responsibility within the group”indicates Jean-Michel Mignot.

The group’s wine activity brings together the Caves de la Loire cooperative (present on four sites: Brissac, Chinon, Oisly and Le Pallet), the Saumur merchant Besombes, the Thouarcé distillery and the Pé company, a wine supplier in bubbles (50% owned with Jaillance). All for a turnover of around €80 million. It is supplemented by cereal and supply activities. And, it was still internally that the group chose Jérôme Lemasson’s replacement at the head of Loire Properties, in the person of Bruno Prévot, the current sales director.
