November 32 is a circus association that deals with new magic – a current trend of illusionism, which combines classical magic codes with the possibilities of illusion provided by modern technology. On sight jeb Everything is visible tells about the interaction of things, about the relationship with your shadows and about the miracles that take place before your eyes.
The show uses references to legendary tricks – escaping, levitation, extinction, movement in time and space, remote manipulation of objects. All this, combined with the original, slightly robust aesthetics, creates a great show that surprises viewers and breaks centuries-old stereotypes about the genre of magic.
New Magic (French). new magic) originated in France in the early 2000s. This genre is characterized by interdisciplinarity, the creation of a link between magic and other disciplines of circus and performing arts, as well as the abandonment of the magician as the central image of the show. Association of Illusionists November 32 are one of the developers of the genre, which has been operating in this line-up since 2014.
Riga Circus Director Māra Pāvula emphasizes that bringing new magic to Riga is a long-cherished dream that will give the Latvian public the opportunity to see the freshest winds of performing arts in the homeland of contemporary circus in France: “New magic The show first comes to the minds of the artists, then turns into engineering schemes and finally gets on stage. The artist himself may not even step on the stage – just create a parallel reality in which the boundaries between illusion and reality are blurred. The new magic on the stage does what we do cinema is achieved through animation and special effects. “
It is possible to bring such a grand show to Riga thanks to the international cooperation project Beta Circus, dedicated to the new magic, the closing part of which will take place in Riga. From March 2 to 9, lectures and master classes will take place in Riga, where 12 project participants – young artists from different European countries – will learn the secrets of the new magic. As the Riga Circus is one of the partners of this project, artists from the Baltic circus and other creative fields will also have the opportunity to participate in the master classes in Riga, who will get acquainted with the new magic scenography, drama and other techniques during the project week. Classes in Riga will be led by Valentīna Loso, one of the founders, developers, teachers and directors of the new discipline of magic (Valentine Losseau) from France.
