New MacBook Pro promises to be the easiest to repair since 2012

Following the launch of the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, iFixit left the first clues about the interior of Apple’s new notebooks. Its news is very encouraging for anyone who wants to repair their own computer.

It’s worth noting that iFixit left only one teaser of what we should expect from your review of the inside of the new MacBook Pro. Conclusions on the repair process for these products will be shared later.

It will be simpler than usual to replace the MacBook Pro battery

The first information released by iFixit about the interior of the new MacBook Pro focuses on its battery. According to what is reported, Apple used an assembly process that has not been seen in these products since 2012.

iFixit classifies new MacBook Pro batteries as “self-repairable.” This is due to the use of “battery pull tabs” to secure this component inside the computer.

This means that Apple has abandoned the glue to secure the MacBook Pro’s battery under the laptop’s screen. Furthermore, this component is not trapped between the notebook’s logic board, which further enhances its repair.

The last time this entity saw a similar approach was in the MacBook Pro generation launched in 2012. Nine years later, Apple has again opted for a build process aimed at streamlining the product’s repair.

It remains to be seen whether Apple followed a similar path with the remaining components that make up the new MacBook Pro. Has the American company made the entire process of dismantling its new notebooks uncomplicated?

The answer to this question will be given as iFixit shares its final analysis on the inside of the new MacBook Pro. This one should be published soon.
