Apple introduced its newest laptop product, the Macbook Air with the M2 chip and the latest design. In addition, the Macbook Air M2 also brings back the MagSafe charging port which was previously replaced by the Type C port.
Macbook Air M2 is the next generation of the Macbook Air M1 which was released in 2020. This laptop is said to come with a 10-Core CPU, two more cores than the M1 chip which comes with 8-Core.
The presence of more CPU cores certainly provides a significant increase in performance. The M2 chip is said to be able to send bandwidth 100GB per second memory with unified memoryand supports the use of up to 24GB unified memory, so it is claimed to be able to handle larger and more complex workloads with ease.
The M2 chip is also said to feature the latest generation of media processing engine and ProRes video engine for better encoding and decoding. This is claimed to allow Macbooks with the M2 chip to play more 4K and 8K video channels than ever before.
Macbook Air M2 comes with a new design that makes it look thinner from various angles. This laptop measures just 11.3 millimeters, weighs about 1.2 kilograms, and is wrapped in a solid aluminum body.
This thin and light design is said to reduce laptop volume by up to 20 percent when compared to the previous generation Macbook Air.
In addition, the Macbook Air M2 is also equipped with power efficiency capabilities, as well as a fanless design that makes this laptop quiet when used.
If the Macbook Air M1 only comes in silver and space gray, the Macbook Air M2 comes in two additional colors, namely midnight and starlight.
On the screen, the Macbook Air M2 is equipped with a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina Display with a maximum brightness of 500 nits, 25 percent brighter than before. In addition, this new screen also supports up to one billion colors.
