The Ensemble Nouvelles Portées was founded in December 2014 by Marc Hajjar and Victor Jacob. From the friendship of these two young conductors, graduating from the Masters in orchestral conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the idea of a unique ensemble was born, of which they share the artistic direction. Their common vision is anchored on the one hand in the development of young musical talents, trained in the best French and European conservatories. The Ensemble Nouvelles Portées regularly calls on soloists to whose success it contributes. At the heart of the orchestra’s double ambition, there is also that of defending a little-interpreted repertoire, notably including young contemporary creation. The objective, for instrumentalists as for conductors, is to showcase these musical works to the public, to amaze initiates and to convert laymen. They are now offering a new version of the symphonic concert built on a dual artistic and sound vision of the orchestra and the performed repertoire, allowing the public to live a unique musical experience. Two flagship projects bring together all the qualities and originalities of this extraordinary ensemble: “The Orchestra at Your Scope” a new symphonic concept, or “Un Orchester, Deux Chefs”. The ensemble also commissioned its first piece for two conductors from composer Karol Beffa. Since 2020, the Ensemble Nouvelles Portées begins a residency at the Festival de Saint Denis as a young ensemble. In this context, he has already offered a series of school concerts and was scheduled at the Métis festival. Other projects and residences are underway on French territory by the summer of 2021 and the following season.
