Rising salaries are good news not only for employees. Retirees and disability pensioners who have not yet reached the retirement age specified in the Act will also be happy to see them.
The average wage in the national economy in the third quarter of 2020 was PLN 5294.35, which is PLN 600 more than in the previous year. And it is this amount that is related to the three-month supplementary allowance for retirees and pensioners who have not reached the retirement age.
New limits
From December 1, 2020, the income limit for beneficiaries ZUS is PLN 3,618.30 gross, i.e. exactly 70 percent. average salary in the third quarter.
If a pensioner who is subject to the rules on limits has to remember about them, as exceeding them may result in a reduction or even suspension of the pension payment.
And yes – monthly income in the amount of up to PLN 3,618.3 does not affect the amount of the pension, between PLN 3,618.31 and PLN 6,719.69 reduce its amount by the amount of the excess, and from PLN 6,719.7 they suspend the benefit.
Who doesn’t have to look at the limit
Pensioners who have completed the statutory retirement age can supplement their old-age pension without any restrictions. Some pensioners can also earn extra money without restrictions. It concerns people who receive pensions for war invalids, military invalids, whose incapacity for work is related to military service. This privilege also applies to survivors’ pensions due to those entitled to these benefits.
If a person receives a survivor’s pension, which is more favorable in terms of amount than the established old-age pension due to the end of the statutory retirement age, he or she may also earn without restrictions.
