The United States is filing a new lawsuit against Trump confidant Roger Stone. He and his wife Nydia still owe nearly $ 2 million in income tax, the Justice Department said. The two would have used a company to shield their income from the US tax authorities.
Roger Stone calls the case politically motivated. He says he is penniless after being earlier was convicted for its role in the investigation of Russian influence on the US elections. He was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison for lying to Congress, obstructing justice and influencing witnesses.
President Trump forgave his good friend’s punishment just before going to jail and Stone later also granted grace.
