The Transport and Infrastructure Commission has published a favorable opinion for a bill that will make life easier the drivers. The changes are related to the way the rovinieta will be paid from now on.
The bill can be paid within 24 hours
Drivers get good news. The automatic fine for lack of damage will disappear. After voting in plenary, the new law will allow drivers to pay a taxi within 24 hours. It is the same system that is used in relation to the toll of the bridge for Fetești-Cernavodă and which gave very good results, in the sense that the formation of queues at the entrance of the bridge was avoided.
For a car included in tax category A, the road tax costs from 2.5 euros per day, up to 28 euros for a year:
- one day – 2.5 euros;
- 10 days – 3.3 euros;
- 30 days – 5.3 euros;
- 60 days – 8.4 euros;
- 12 months – 28 euros.

What is destruction
Motor vehicles traveling on public roads under the administration of CNAIR must pay a toll, which is later used by the institution for manpower costs and road infrastructure maintenance. Its value is established, from time to time, according to the technical characteristics of the ASSESSMENT.
Large fines
The fines for not paying the tax are very high and between 250 and 500 lei for category A cars, but they also reach 4,500 lei in the case of trucks.
The National Roads Company (CNAIR) monitors public roads with more than 100 video cameras throughout the country. They will find, by filming the registration number, the vehicles that have not been paid for a taxi.
Rovinieta must be paid by all drivers who want to drive on the national roads outside the cities. It must be paid regardless of the country in which the car is registered.
