Faced with this phenomenon which is becoming more and more widespread, on the bridges of New York but especially on the Brooklyn Bridge, New York Mayor Eric Adams has just enacted a new law. A law not easy to implement

It was since mid-2023 that the media began to raise awareness on the subject. Speaking of disorder, insecurity and illegality, that was all it took for the authorities to react. In fact, many sellers do not even have a license to sell their products on their stalls on the bridge. As a result, no less than 140 summons were first issued to put an end to this illegal activity. The problem is that many of these sellers are Hispanic and Chinese. These are therefore hundreds of leaflets written in English, Spanish and Chinese which were distributed to sellers. This is to explain to them to put an end to their activity. The Ministry of Transport, responsible for enforcing this law, announced that it would be applied from today.
