We should remind you about one of the most popular productions of JRT’s repertoire – Alvis Hermans’ “Latvian Stories”, which premiered in 2004. On several evenings, JRT actors told stories about people.

Director of the show Willow Many about the plan of the show says: “In the summer of 2004 Alvis Hermanis came up with the idea to create a show about the people around us. At the time, he suggested that the life story of anyone accidentally met on the street was ten times more powerful than the suffering of Romeo and Juliet, that life offered wonderful stories, all that was left was to write them down and put them on stage. In other words, the director invited us to become co-authors of the show. “

“This is how the show” Latvian Stories “came into being, which lived a long life, but more importantly it was something else. , “Historical Research Commission” and others, “emphasizes the actor and director of” New Latvian Stories “.

It works! Moreover, every meeting only professionally perfecting the actor – it helps to understand something more about themselves and the world. This show is a close-up portrait of the young actors, in which they tell about their time and people alongside. It is obvious that it is a completely different generation, they speak differently. only one – as then, so now they are a person ‘s infinite longing for happiness, “aka.
