Genesis has revealed the exterior of the luxury sedan G80 with the prefix Sport. The South Korean company has published photos of the exterior and interior of the innovation, which is distinguished by its “athleticism” and special design, but the technical characteristics of the new version of the sedan are kept secret for now. The brand promises to declassify them after the start of production, scheduled for the third quarter of 2021.
The exterior of the G80 Sport is the next step in the evolution of athletic elegance, Genesis notes. The model gets more aggressive bumpers and parts in tinted chrome, as well as unique 20-inch wheels with brake calipers in red or black. The photos show the exclusive Cavendish Red sedan, named after a rock on the north coast of Prince Edward Island in eastern Canada.
The interior of the G80 Sport has a three-spoke steering wheel. For the front panel Genesis has prepared three coatings to choose from – aluminum, carbon or diamond-patterned material. In addition, special custom seat designs with the same diamond decor will be available.
Technical details are yet to be revealed, but Genesis mentioned that the G80 Sport will receive a fully steerable chassis. The “standard” G80, which replaced the generation last spring, is equipped with 2.5 and 3.5 liter gasoline engines producing 304 and 308 horsepower, respectively. The transmission is an eight-speed “robot” with two clutches.
