New Jersey Devils hockey players in the lineup with Slovak forward Tomáš Tatar claimed their first victory in the 2nd round of the NHL playoffs. In the third match of the semifinals of the Eastern Conference, they beat the Carolina Hurricanes at home 8:4 and reduced the series to 1:2. The “Devils” triumphed despite the fact that Carolina gave them 3 goals in their own weakness.

Currently the most experienced and productive Slovak forward in the NHL Tomas Tatar he also came out of this duel with no points again – in this year’s 10 playoff matches, he scored in only one. In the match nomination, the coaches reassigned him from the first to the third attack on the wing to Michael McLeod and Erik Haul. He spent a total of 12:16 minutes on the ice, of which 55 seconds were in power plays. Apart from two “minuses” in the +/- points statistics, he did not record a single shot on goal and gave away 1 point. In the three games of the series with the Carolina Hurricanes so far, he has scored only one shot attempt. He also had 2 penalty minutes added to his account, when he was guilty of dangerous play with a high stick on Sebastian Ah in the 1st period. During his exclusion, the “devils” did not concede, on the contrary, Michael McLeod even scored in a weakened state.
