The new Jeep Grand Cherokee has also arrived in Europe. The American SUV will be available exclusively in the 4xe version, a plug-in hybrid with an electric range of up to 51 kilometers.
The first time we saw the fifth generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV was in 2021, but only now, two years later, the new Grand Cherokee also arrives on the European car market. Jeep held an event in Malaga, Spain to showcase the entire range of 4xe hybrids – Wrangler, Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee – to test their abilities and put the spotlight on the new WL generation of the Grand Cherokee. The American manufacturer will bring to Europe only the 4xe Plug-In Hybrid version in four trim levels: Limited, Trailhawk, Overland and Summit Reserve.
Jeep promises this is “one of the most refined and technologically advanced SUVs with 4×4 capabilities” ever created. Also, Jeep says of the new model that it has “unmatched performance, along with well-tuned on-road driving dynamics, thanks to the two 4×4 systems – Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II.”
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee arrives in Europe
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors and the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. The result is a power of 380 hp and a torque of 637 Nm. The 400-volt battery pack is made of 96 lithium-ion cells and provides a combined all-electric range of up to 48 km, which becomes 51 km in urban mode, and a total range of up to 700 km.
Inside, the SUV enjoys materials and technologies that make it formidable in the fight in the premium segment. The Uconnect 5 infotainment system is also present on board the car, complete with a 10.1-inch central display and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster “with five times faster operating speed and updates OTA (over-the-air)”.
The driver also benefits from a 10.25-inch head-up display, even the passenger gets an optional 10.25-inch screen for an extra dose of entertainment.
